Wine & Food in the Bay of Island

The Bay of Island is the birthplace of the New Zealand wine industry. In 1819 Reverend Samuel Marsden planted New Zealand's first grape vines. Today a small number of high quality boutique wineries are located in the Bay of Islands. Several wineries are also located in Kerikeri a sort drive from Paihia.

The Bay of Island is also home to many awarding winning cafes and restaurants.
