  • Lake Dunstan Triathlon - Choose from either Swim 500m, or Kayak 5.5km; then Road Cycle 23km and Run 5.8km. For Individuals and Teams..
February
  • Central Otago A & P Show - trade exhibits from around the Central Otago region along with many craft stalls from the South Island..
June
  • Brass Monkey Rally - New Zealand’s best known motorcycle rally with around 2000 motorcyclists coming from all over New Zealand. .
September
  • Alexandra Blossom Festival- features over 30 events included wool shearing, dances, parades, arts & crafts, amusement rides, garden tours, cycling rides, plus the Grand Festival Parade
October
  • The Rail Trail Classic 100- a one day ride/race along the full length of the Rail Trail, commencing 8am at Clyde and finishing 6pm at Middlemarch. This ride is 157km in length, riders can ride solo or in teams swapping at one of the four transitions point on the route. The event is being held on Sunday 1st October 2006.
  • The third annual Sculpture in Central Otago exhibition will be held at Olssen's Garden Vineyard, 306 Felton Road, Bannockburn, over Labour Weekend 2006. Sculpture in Central Otago offers art enthusiasts the unique opportunity to view and purchase quality New Zealand sculpture in the beautiful surroundings of the majestic Otago landscape.

  • Bannockburn Gutbuster MTB - The Garston to Bannockburn mountain bike ride is 75km and comprises of two gut-busting climbs (up to 1300m) through the brilliant Nevis Valley.
