Lake Kaniere and Lake Mahinapura:
both a short drive from Hokitika, and are ideally for kayaking, sailing and other water based activities. There are also several walking tracks at both lake.
Arts and Craft galleries: there are amny artist who live and work in Hokitika. Take a stroll around the local galleries to view local artist jade carvings, glassworks, gold jewellery, and fine wood.
Wild Food Festival: one of the biggest event on the West Coast is the Wild Food Festival, which is held in March each year.
