Over 30,000 supporters descend on Wellington every year for the annual two-day Rugby Sevens tournament. The AXA New Zealand International Sevens is part of the IRB Sevens Series. There are 16 international teams that take part in the IRB Sevens Series.

The atmosphere, costumes, and great rugby has turned the Wellington Sevens into one of New Zealand's leading sports events. As such event is always a sell out, with tickets selling out well in advance of the tournament. So if you are planning on going to the Wellington Rugby Sevens plan well in advance and book tickets and accommodation as early as possible.
